Hello and thanks for visiting! I’m Brittany King (dot com) Had to! I’m a radio announcer, freelance voice-over artist and lover of all things adventure.
I go to “work” everyday doing what I love: talking to people, sharing stories and current events and singing off-tune. This industry has blessed me with incredible experiences and I’ve loved spending the last 12 years on the radio. Or, “in the radio”, as my 93-year-old Italian grandma (Nonna) says.
In 2011, I was a media rider for the Canadian Cancer Society’s Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock, raising over $100, 000 for pediatric cancer research and support programs. The following year I was honoured with the Young Broadcaster of the Year Award at Canadian Music Week. In 2013, I was selected as a Bell Media representative for a trip to the Philippines with World Vision Canada. Our television/radio campaign goal was to secure the sponsorship of 1500 children (3000 wound up getting sponsored through individuals and families from Vancouver Island!)
Besides work, riding my Harley keeps my heart beating. I’m a member of my local Vancouver Island HOG® Chapter and from 2015-2017, I volunteered as the Ladies of Harley Officer. Riding makes me feel independent and free and has brought so much perspective and clarity to my life. Also lots of adventure. This summer I’m doing a solo cross Canada ride to celebrate and promote Canada’s 150th and also to connect riders from coast to coast, particularly young women like myself. So, if you live anywhere between Victoria, BC and St. John’s, NL, let me know and we can meet up for a ride!
